A New Qualification in Sustainable Floristry…

In November 2023, the Sustainable Floristry Network (SFN) launched a brand new industry program to help support florists globally who are operating in a nature-first, considered way.

I heard about this new program a little while ago now, and a number of the international floral ambassadors who I look to for advice have been involved in its development, so as soon as it launched, I was eager to take a look through the training and see what more I could learn about how Bryonia can operate more sustainably.

All of the modules within the program are CPD certified, focus on scientific research and highlight the global challenges within the floral industry, from pesticides, to supply chains, to single use plastics and much more. Looking through the mixture of topics and answering questions on each really solidified our understanding to date, and allowed me chance to reflect on our recent ten part Sustainability Series which covered many similar topics to those mentioned above.

Continuing to extend our learning in Sustainable Floristry will be a long term practice as scientific data and research expand in our industry, but staying in the loop will continue to be an important practice in our growth.
